Little boy, you light up my world. Today, you’re 5 months old. Most people think you’re older, though. It might have something to do with the fact that you’re wearing 12-18 month clothes. Yea, you’re a chunk. But I love every bit of you.
Even though mama and daddy wanted to wait until you were 6 months old to feed you solids, you decided you were ready at 4.5 months. You screamed at me until I let you suck on my pear at lunch one day. So, I figured it was time to get some rice cereal. So far you like cereal, pears, apples, and bananas – all organic, of course. You’re still a pro at breastfeeding, which makes mama very happy. You nurse about every 4 hours unless you’re upset and want to nurse for comfort, which is okay by me. You still eat once or twice during the night, but I barely notice because we usually sleep right through it.
You’re going to be a good listener, because you love it when people talk. You rarely interrupt a conversation because you’re so interested in what we’re saying.
You’re an angry teether, just like your brother. We’re able to manage with chamomile and lots of soft toys to chew on, but I know how stressful it is for you to be in so much pain. We better see a tooth soon – just sayin’.
So far, you can roll side to side and scoot a bit to reach a toy. You can grab your paci and attempt to put it in your mouth. You’re successful some of the time. 🙂 You like to change scenery often throughout the day, so you go from the bed to the high chair to mama’s lap to the bouncy seat to a blanket on the floor – over and over again! We let you play in the play yard from time to time and you’re starting to get used to it. Mama likes that you have a safe place to explore.
Your time with us so far has definitely made your mama and daddy realize how much we need to take a step back and focus on what’s important. Even if it means going crazy thinking of everything that needs to get done when you just want me to lay in bed with you. These days are fleeting. You’re already growing up too fast. I hope you stay this sweet forever.
